The FordPass App Is Draining my Phone's Battery. What Do I Do?

We’ve heard from a few customers that there’s a battery drain issue on some iPhones.

We apologize if you’ve been affected. We’re working to address battery consumption issues affecting some devices running on iOS 14+ after being connected to a vehicle. This fix will be included in a future iOS update.

In the meantime, there are actions you can take to lessen the impact:

  1. Confirm battery usage
    • Under settings, scroll down to Battery
    • Then, review FordPass Battery Usage By App

  2. Force close The FordPass App
    • iOS devices without a Home button
      • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen
      • Then, pause slightly in the middle of the screen
      • Swipe left or right until you locate FordPass
      • Swipe up on FordPass
    • iOS devices with a Home button
      • Double press the Home button
      • Swipe left or right until you locate FordPass
      • Swipe up on FordPass

  3. Restart your phone

Please note: Until a fix is in place, these issues may come up again after your phone has been connected to your vehicle. If so, repeat the above steps.
