Troubleshooting tips for SYNC with MyFord Touch

Your SYNC® with MyFord Touch® system was designed to provide you with years of entertainment, information, and convenience.

However, if you ever notice slower than normal operation or other issues, use the following troubleshooting tips to help keep your system operating in top shape.27

SYNC® with MyFord Touch® allows you to use voice or simple touchscreen commands to make calls, play music, adjust climate, and get useful information about your vehicle.27

How to identify your SYNC version

As with all innovative technology products, SYNC® has evolved since its introduction. There are four versions of SYNC available, depending on your vehicle's model and year:27

1) SYNC (basic system) and SYNC with MyFord®

2) SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation

3) SYNC with MyFord Touch®

4) SYNC® 3

SYNC voice commands by category

SYNC® with MyFord Touch® voice commands offer hands-free control of a wide range of in-vehicle and external systems. Voice command categories mirror the four corners of the home screen, plus optional SD Card Navigation.27

SYNC® with MyFord Touch® has many useful features and services.

Learn the controls for SYNC with MyFord Touch

In vehicles equipped with SYNC® with MyFord Touch®, controls and screens have replaced traditional knobs and buttons. It’s important to know where these controls are and how to interact with them.27

How to speak to SYNC with MyFord Touch

SYNC® with MyFord Touch® can only hear you when it’s in Listening mode. If you speak while SYNC is speaking, it can’t hear you and won’t respond properly to your commands. Take turns for a successful voice session with SYNC.27

Understand how voice commands work

Nearly every SYNC® with MyFord Touch® feature can be activated simply with voice commands. You can use your phone, play music, change the temperature, and access many other SYNC services. Of course, you're still able to use the 8-inch touchscreen when you prefer it to voice commands.27
